Blessed be the broodmares! (And their amazing daughters)
I love how they love their foals. Each spring, the foals are welcomed with a passion of motherly affection and protection ~ Hope and the excitement of new life, we love that part! The mares and fillies represent the cream of a life long breeding program. The imports represent some of our favorite European studs.
We have spent over forty years putting Mt Dragon Pony Acres breeding program together. Each year we kept the best of the best of our fillies, building a broodmare herd which is second to none. In addition to the cream of our home grown foals, we imported royally bred fillies from the UK and the Netherlands. This group of mares include daughters of Royal Welsh Winners and RWAS producers and are themselves Royal Welsh Winners, Gold Medal Winners and Champions at European shows.
Through the years we have produced Supreme Champions, Sport Pony Champions, Devon winning producers, open show Champions. Evans ponies are found in many of the best breeding programs throughout the USA and Canada and as far away as Australia. With no further ado, we are proud to introduce the ladies of Mt Dragon. They include bloodlines which formed today's Section B Welsh Riding Pony. If you love researching pedigrees, you will find lovely many of the fathers (and mothers) of the breed.
